A warm welcome to Herb Simon Professional Development in Bahrain. We are glad to have you here.
We offer courses, workshops, and lecture series in psychology for students, colleagues, neighbors, and anyone interested in learning more about how the human mind works. Our work is grounded in evidence‑based psychology, and we believe that scientific knowledge can help build healthier communities, stronger families, and better lives.
We are here to share what we have learned, to bring people together, and to support the people around us.
Who We Are
We have taught psychology at universities in the GCC and abroad for more than 20 years, including Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar, Northwestern University in Qatar, the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland – Bahrain, the American University in Cairo, Gulf University for Science and Technology, and American International University in Kuwait.
We know the student population in the GCC well — their strengths, challenges, and potential.
Dr. Angela Brunstein
built the psychology minor at CMU‑Q, served on accreditation teams, and worked as Associate Dean for the School of Arts and Sciences at AIU. She earned her B.A., M.A., and PhD in Psychology from the University of Hamburg, with minors in Neurology and Computer Science.
Joerg Brunstein
holds an M.Sc. in Positive Psychology and Psychological Coaching (University of East London) and an M.A. in College‑Level Education. He has worked in research labs at CMU, TUC, and AUC, co‑founded Resilience Studies in Germany, and taught psychology and professional ethics at AIU Kuwait.

Herbert Alexander Simon (1916–2001) was a Nobel Prize winner, Turing Award laureate, and one of the founders of modern psychology, artificial intelligence, economics, and cognitive science.
